Editing, copying and deleting an item
The buttons above an item are everything you can do to it after it exists.

Item page → action bar
Editing an item
Section titled “Editing an item”Edit Item reopens the form the item was created on, with everything already filled in — name and model number, brand and category, costs and rate, item type, warranty and notes. Change what you need and Update.
Nothing is off limits, including Treat as Part/Component and the tax choice. What you cannot change here is the quantity: stock moves through Add/Remove Stock, so that every change to the number keeps its reason and its date.
The fields themselves are described in adding an inventory item.
Adding pictures
Section titled “Adding pictures”The dotted + tile beneath an item’s picture opens the same form at Add Image(s), where you choose the file and press Update. An item can hold several pictures — see the item page for how they are shown.
Copying an item
Section titled “Copying an item”Copy Item starts a new item from this one, with the details already filled in. It is the quick way to add the second and third of something that differs only in a lens size or a colour — copy, change the two fields that differ, save.
The copy is a new item with its own stock, starting at nothing. It does not inherit the original’s quantity or history.
Active and inactive
Section titled “Active and inactive”Every item is either Active or Inactive, shown as a badge beside its name. Inactive items are hidden from the item list until you tick Show Inactive Items above it.
Making an item inactive is how you retire something you no longer stock while keeping it on record — its history, and the jobs and invoices it appears on, are untouched. The Status is set on the item’s form, through Edit Item, so any item can be switched either way at any time.
Deleting an item
Section titled “Deleting an item”The bin in the corner of the item’s overview removes it, asking first with Yes, delete it and No, keep it.
